At NHBC, the Church Council is recognized as the primary leadership group and, with the help of our ministries, are responsible for the establishment of church policy and oversight and co-ordination of the mission of the church, subject to the will of the church.
Each ministry is guided in its responsibilities by the Manual of Policy and Procedure as well as the Church Constitution.
The members of the Christian Education Ministry are responsible for maintaining and enriching the educational programs for children, youth, and adults.
The members of the Deacon Ministry are to be moral and spiritual counselors, leaders in worship, evangelism, and oversee these aspects of the church’s ministry.
The members of the Deaconess Ministry are leaders of the spiritual life of the church, working in conjunction with the Deacon Ministry and oversee these aspects of the church’s ministry.
The members of the Financial Management Ministry are responsible for the general supervision and management of the business interest, memorial endowment, investments, and finances of the church.
The members of Missions Ministry are responsible for the development, coordination, and management of all missionary ministries and missionary works of the church. The Missions Ministry will approve, coordinate, and monitor all missionary works of the church by cooperation and delegation, excluding established programs of the West Virginia American Baptist Convention.
The members of the Music Ministry are responsible for maintaining and enriching the youth music, adult music, and worship programs of the church.
The members of the Recreation Ministry are responsible for all recreational activities of the church.
The Trustee Ministry are responsible for the general supervision and management of the properties of the church.
